A gripping thriller TV pilot where the lives of two seemingly unconnected individuals are thrown into chaos by a mysterious and powerful unseen antagonist, forcing them into a terrifying game where compliance is the only option.

"FRAYLINE" is a passion project from Daniel Alexander Films, conceived with the ambition to create a compelling TV pilot episode that will be pitched to major networks. Our goal is to demonstrate the series' unique strengths, gripping narrative, and potential audience appeal, with the ultimate aim of securing a full series greenlight. As this is a passion project, roles will be expenses-only. We are seeking talented individuals who can perform a midlands or neutral accent who are eager to be part of an exciting new venture.

LEAD ROLES:

ALAN FOSTER: (Male, White, playing age 30s-40s) Appears as a once successful businessman now distinctly fallen from grace. He wears an expensive suit that's clearly been worn for several days, contributing to his unshaven and dishevelled appearance. Haunted and carrying an immense weight, he exudes a palpable sense of desperation. Prone to anxiety and intense emotional turmoil, but with glimpses of his former authority. (Lead Role)

ANDRE: (Male, Black or Mixed-Race, playing age 17-19) A talented and earnest young man on the cusp of adulthood. Street savvy and a product of his inner-city environment, Andre carries a sense of responsibility and strives for a good future, but is also deeply loyal to his friends. Displays intelligence and nervousness; capable of showing a wide emotional range when under pressure. (Lead Role)

SUPPORTING ROLES:

TRISTAN: (Male, Black or Mixed-Race, playing age 17-20) Andre's close friend. Street savvy and a product of his environment, Tristan is impulsive, often trying to project a bravado that masks underlying insecurity. Can be reckless and short-sighted, but has a persuasive charm, especially with his friends.

OLIVIA: (Female, Black, Asian or Mixed-Race, playing age 17-19) Andre and Tristan's friend. A product of her environment, she is grounded, empathetic, and often the voice of reason within her friendship group. She's caring and supportive but also possesses a street-smart resilience.

CARMEN: (Female, Black or Mixed-Race, playing age late 30s-late 50s) Andre's hardworking and loving mother. She is pragmatic and deeply concerned for her son's future and well-being, showing a quiet strength and familiar maternal warmth.

MONICA REYES: (Female, any ethnicity, playing age early 30s) Works in risk assessment. Initially presents as articulate, professional, and calmly observant, with a wry, approachable demeanour. The role requires a convincing and sudden shift to a chillingly confident and controlled persona.

INTERVIEWER (College): (Female, White, playing age 30s-50s) An experienced and professional college interviewer. She is warm, articulate, and genuinely encouraging when she sees talent, but also sharp, perceptive, and observant.

JAYDEN: (Male, any ethnicity, playing age 18-23) An intimidating and aggressive young man, clearly street savvy and a product of his environment. Possessive and territorial, with a short fuse and a dangerous edge. Carries himself with an air of dominance.

MARCO: (Male, any ethnicity, playing age 18-23) Jayden's associate. Street savvy and a product of his environment, Marco is mean-looking and watchful. He's more of an enforcer than a talker, and his presence is imposing.

FATHER OF YOUNG CHILD: (Male, White, playing age 30s-40s) Appears as a protective, ordinary father watching over his young child at a train station. The actor should also possess the ability to tap into states of extreme agitation, fear, and profound anguish.

AMY (Waitress): (Female, any ethnicity, playing age 20s) A cheerful, slightly hesitant, and accommodating coffee shop waitress. She aims to please and performs her duties with a pleasant, everyday demeanor.

FEATURED & DAY PLAYER ROLES:

CHILD (at Train Station): (Female, White, playing age 8-9) Observant and innocent, watching the world around her with a child's directness. Her direct, steady look can be quite impactful. Non-speaking but her presence is key.

SHOP OWNER (Chicken Shop): (Male, any ethnicity, playing age 40s-60s) The weary, seen-it-all owner of a fast-food establishment. Observes unfolding drama with a sense of tired resignation, preferring not to get involved.

TWO MEN (Males, any ethnicity, playing age 20s) Two ordinary men having a casual conversation.

BARTENDER (Drinking Bar): (Male, any ethnicity, playing age 20s-40s) Professional, efficient, and observant, working in a modern, busy bar.
